| ....I remember very well, when I regularly came to visit to Israel in the early 90`s, it was a very different, much more liberal, much more tolerant Israel than I see today. There can not be the slightest doubt that the mass-immigration from Russian Jews has moved Israels political balance SIGNIFICANTLY to the right. Many of those Jewish immigrants still seem to have some longing for the good old Russian "iron fist". And I`m afraid on the long term, the Israeli people will pay a tremendous price for this new "belligerent" attitude.... |
