Lavi. Have a Happy Norooz and a happy and successful new Iranian year. For those who do not know, the Persian new year starts on the first day of spring.
On what will happen in Iran: The only way out of the mess there is through what is happening, i.e. a slow struggle against a well entrenched but dying ideology.
The same holds true for Israel. The saviors of Israel will be those who will bring it peace with the Palestinians, not those who promote war and destruction. They too face a well entrenched ideology. Israel is correct to be concerned about Iran but oover playing this threat WILL backfire.
The most intelligent Israeli policy towards Iran would be to help make conditions ripe for a win by Larijani in the 2009 Iranian Presidential elections. Interestingly I believe that this what they intend to do but they are hampered by over zealous American Jewish Organizations with little understanding of Iran or the region. |
