| As the West looks for more sanctions against Iran, John Rosenthal in the World Politics Review has revealed that German trade with Iran did not decline but boomed again in 2007. Contrary to declarations by Chancellor Merkel, German imports from Iran increased by 50%. A decline in exports for about 15% has been faked by the German government, because only the figures from January till October were taken. In reality, there was an increase in delivering newest Western technology to the mullah regime denying the Holocaust. Further, the German industry is circumventing any possible future sanctions by dealing with Iran through third party countries in the Gulf. In many German cities official fairs took place promoting trade with Iran. An Iranian dissident and courageous woman, Nasrin Amirsedghi, distributed protest leaflets outside the meetings, questioning how a country like Germany, with its past, can be involved in such things. This is a question everyone should be asking Miss Merkel. |
