| After British sailors and marines were abducted and taken hostage by Iranian forces in international waters, Tony Blair tried quickly to mobilize the EU to support his actions to bring about their release. It is clear that the attack was an attack not only against Britain but against the EU as a whole. The abduction of the British was thus an act of war that concerned the whole of Europe, not only against one of its member states. And so the British government asked for solidarity by freezing trade with Iran. This request found an immediate rejection from Merkel. Again, when US AG Gonzales called Germany to hand over the murderer of U.S Petty Officer Robert Stethem, Germany freed Hizbullah terrorist Mohammed Ali Hamadi and flew him to Lebanon, which has no extradition treaty with the US. The release of Iranian state terrorist Darabi against promises given to Israel was similarly shameful. It shows how the mullah system can count on Merkel and Germany. |
