| I think even Arab countries. Freedom of expression is a right often misused by the media, they cross many a red line and call it a "right". Sacred is free expression but it requires that red lines are kept sacred too. Too much power and influence is in the hands of the media, misused , it is a power that can create wars, mistrust, and strife. Democracy requires that we are cautious and care about what we say and the effect it will have on others, we are not dictators who can do and say as we please and not care about it`s effects. Unfortunately media outlets think that they are gods and don`t think enough about the ethical borders they infringe upon and sometimes smear. And with media outlets owned more and more personalities that have a agenda and philosophy behind them, "a story to tell", they come with biases and an angle, so free speech is limited to that angle and philosophy. Democracy and Free speech are not tools but ideals that can be abused. |
