Greece was the first country in Europe that passed a law for the Jewish property in 1946. By the legal umbrella, the Jewish Organization of O.P.A.I.E. and the survivors gained back their property.

Take into account the majority of the Jews lived in Provinces liberated in the period 1912-1920. Many owners, Christians and Jews, didn`t translate their ottoman titles of property and provide them to the local authorities before WWII. This omission was very critical after the Holocaust. O.P.A.I.E. and the small group of survivors couldn`t find the official documents. In many cases, they could not prove who was the owner of these properties.

The law is very clear: even now, if someone can prove that a proverty belonged to a Holocaust victim, the property must return to relatives or O.P.A.I.E.

A friendly word: Cypriots don`t need your tears. Keep them for the murdered innocent children in Gaza and Jerusalem`s Yashiva.
