| How can you possibly say that there is no connection between Jewish claims to compensation for or right of return to areas depopulated in 1948 and the "Nakba"? Just as some Jewish residence in the Jewish Quarter goes back generations, Palestinian residence in the over 400 village depopulated by Israel in 1948 goes back generations. Either there is a right to return and a right to compensation or there is not. Either all people should be compensated for their losses in 1948 and before and should be allowed to return to their homes or nobody should. This idea that only rights should apply to only some people is sadly typically Israeli and is at the heart of why this conflict continues. |
