| Israel should not under any circumstances carry out negotiations to please the Bush administration. They already had pushed a very unwise and ill thought out election in the territories. They already had forced a very unfavourable agreement on Israel regarding the Rafah crossing. They have already seen the weapons destined for the PA fall into the hands of Hamas. No, really, Israel should act as a sovereign nation, and look out for her own interests, because that is exactly what the administration is doing. Alliances are mostly nice to have, but they are not friendships. |
