Sounds just a like one of those discussion by the sea, in salons and Beit Cafe back in the eighties. The Right would say "do not talk to Arafat, he cannot be trusted", while I as a Leftist, would preach the same argument as Kissinger and Marcus, finding it "Oh so clear" that the moment Arafat agrees to sit down & talk with Israel he has defacto changed the PLO`s covenant and recognized Israel. Sure sounded good, but was in the end a load of crap. Hamas can sit down with us, as an enemy, sign an agreement and continue to be our enemy. Who is going to stop them, the Europeans? As for Kissinger, he sweated over the Paris Peace Agreements with N. Vietnam. "Peace!" We then all watched as the Viet Cong brutally murdered and forced the rest of the ethnic Chinese pop of S. Vietnam into boats. Thus the million boat people, good for us we got some great Vietnamese restaurants out of the deal. Bad for the thousands who died for the veneer of peace. Yoel we r all confused. |
