| TotL: "Of course it`s Israels security that is foremost,they`re the ones being attacked daily." Of course it is the future state of Palestine whose security needs guaranteeing, because: 1) Israel has form; it has kept these people under a military occupation for 40 years 2) Israel will insist that any Palestinian state be left demilitarized and, therefore, helpless before it. Witness Lebanon; the Lebanese army armour dates back to the 1960`s and she has no airforce or AA capabilities i.e. it can not hope to defend the country against the IDF And THAT sure has guaranteed Israel`s safety, hasn`t it TotL?????? Israel likes have the neighbours disarmed, but that also encourages her to be aggressive towards them, which makes the entire rationale self-defeating. Israel should want a well armed and well trained Palestinian Army next to her own IDF. It`ll breed some mutual respect for once, coz that`s been sorely lacking in Israel. |
