Maybe it`s because here in the USA we are used to school shootings, but what I find the most disturbing is not that a terrorist killed 8 students, but that everyone cares about the students, and not about the much poorer and "less important" victims in Sderot.
The yeshivah shootings instantly brought about new regulations limiting public funerals- regulations that should`ve been enacted years ago to reduce pro-terrorist incitement. Events in Sderot, meanwhile, cause no outrage and very little government action.
IMHO, the conditions for returning the gunman`s body should be that all his immediate family members leave Israel right after the burial. Strike a deal to let them move to America if no Arab countries agree to take them. Banishment (along with the effective, but rarely used, policy of destroying terrorists` homes) should be a mainstream policy for dealing with terrorists. |
