Although I agree the Lightmans have a genuine complaint, anyone converted by a non-Orthodox Rabbinate is not considered Halachically Jewish by any Orthodox Rabbinate or Beth Din. This applies around the world and this has nothing to do with racism. There are Halachic Jews of every colour and there are Halachic converts of every colour. If the Reform and Liberal Rabbis want Jewish schools let them set up their own schools and apply for state aid, just as the Orthodox have done.
