Jews in the US. There are around 5.5 million of them. And they are the richist ethno/religious group there. Well, that for one sets a focus on jewish voters and their interests.
But now to the point: The US is in the process of bringing democracy to the middle east. Look at Iraq, Afghanistan, Libanon, Jordan. And nothing is more in the interest of Israel, then democracies around.
Obama, might be good for the US, certainly a public health-care system is much needed, but for the middle-east and thus for israel, Obama as the US president is a horror scenario. Happily enough Americans are also concearned about the rest of the world. |
