| The mistrust among Jews of Obama is more due to his being black than Muslim. Leaders in the black community have made overtly antisemitic comments, and there was no voice of dissent or denunciation of this among the black community. For example, Farrakhan called Judaism a "gutter religion." Sharpton referred to Jews as "diamond merchants" during an uprising in the Crown Heights area of New York, and said, "If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house." Jesse Jackson called jews "Hymies" and called New York "Hymietown." I can`t imagine any other ethnic group leaders not speaking out against such rhetoric. Until blacks denounce antisemitic remarks within their community, Jew will not trust blacks. |
