| First, Israel is NOT at all an innocent party. There are more than enough "war crimes" from BOTH SIDES. Your comment "if they`re not going to claim their part of the mandate, Israel may as well put it to good use" really encapsulates the problem. This is not only immoral but illegal per generally accepted international law. Whether the land is fallow or not does not give Israel any right to it. Obviously once you have the land, you are not going to give it up, so there is no solution. Israel should NEVER have taken the land in the first place, now it has to live with the consequences. BTW - EVERY group that is invaded will resist with what ever means they have, that is their RIGHT and just human nature. You ask What is in it for Israel? the answer is a future. Because situations change and since Israel has shown no mercy, it can not expect any in return when things change, which they will. |
