| What is in it for the Abbas? Will Israel clear the WB of the 500,00 settlers? (no, there is no one in Israeli leadership with the guts) If not, where do the Palestinians go? (ship them to the mars colonies?) The bottom line is there is no possibility of a two-state solution because Israel has claimed most of the land and can not give it up without a bloody civil war. No Israeli leader that values their life can give up the WB. The best thing Abbas could do is disband the PLO and resign with a letter detailing just how the world has screwed the Palestinians (lots of guilty parties - UK, US, EU, Saudis, and the list goes on ...). Maybe then the world would be shamed into hitting Israel over the head to get a half-fair solution for the Palestinians, but I doubt it. There is absolutely no possibility of a fair settlement for the Palestinians. |
