| Given the hard realities on the ground, what options does Israel have? As detailed by Bradley Burston, there is no realistic military solution to the situation in Gaza, no matter what Arens may think. He glosses over the real reason why Israel pulled out of Gaza - the financial and human cost to Israel of staying was far too high. Going back into Gaza will have a very high financial and human cost to Israel. How many dead Israelis soldiers are worth the few civilian deaths in Sderot? That may seem hard hearted to some but leaders have to make life and death decisions like that. Basically the Israeli government has put itself into a no-win situation by refusing to negotiate unconditionally with Hamas. Arens is not offering a real solution to Gaza, only playing politics. To answer my question - the WHO is someone that picks talk over massive killing - Is there any Israeli leader with the guts to do that? I see no one. |
