How is it that so many Israeli intellectuals bought into and still buy into the neo-messianic vision of terror organizations dedicated to Israel`s destruction working for a peaceful resolution of the conflict? I`d say that psychotropic drugs is as good an explanation as any.
Think about it. Our leaders have seen massive numbers of missiles landing on Sderot ever since Disengagement, but apparently their perception of time is such that it seemed to be just a brief volley, such that they`ve only now awakened and begun pommeling the northern Gaza Strip.
Of course, not everyone could have taken such drugs, then looked around at Israel`s neighbors, and actually perceived a New Middle East despite all the contradictory evidence. For that you have to be a Shimon Peres. |
