There is a way forward for Israel.
Two things should happen at the same time.
Israel should declare an immediate cessation of hostile actions against the Palestinian people and at the same time issue seven days notice of a declaration of war against Hamas unless it stops all hostilities immediately.
Seven days is enough for Hamas to decide if it really wants to fight an all out war or live in peace.
Israel can then say they will do all that is possible during the seven days to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and at the same time broadcast to them what the intentions really are so that the population at large knows what the results of a continuation of hostile actions will be and should they not halt these then they are responsible for their own actions. |
