| I didn`t see the picture of these girls but I saw the photos of the two Israeli soldiers killed and the Sderot college student killed before that. Yeah, negotiating with Hamas is recognition of their power- their power to kill Israelis and to put Israel in a situation where it kills innocent civilians too. How anyone can think Israel can crush Hamas without killing large number of civilians is beyond me. And if they kill large numbers of civilians they create more recruits for Hamas than they kill, so any security gains will be short lived and the increased Pal, Arab, and Muslim desire for revenge not so short lived. The last poll of Israeli opinion I saw favored talking with Hamas, maybe the politicians are behind public opinion in understanding this is the best option available. |
