1. It is kind of wild that Obama is hit with the claim that he, in contrast to McCain and Clinton, does not understand global realities. Last I checked, he didn`t buy the WMD story in Iraq back in 2002 and 2003 whereas both McCain and Clinton did. With understanding like McCain`s and Clinton`s, who needs people who actually got some major global issues right?
2. As to which candidate would be best for Israel, I agree with poster #1. AIPAC can and will tell whichever of the three candidates what to do in Israel and anyone of them who becomes the US president will follow. We American Jews make up only 1.7% of the voting public according to the New York Times, but, like the Cuban ex-pats in Florida on Cuban policy, we seem to be able to dictate the policy that the collective we (as manifested in AIPAC) want. |
