| Ehud Olmert lacked the image of the "tough guy" warrior that his mentor Ariel Sharon had. Olmert, in order to expel the Jews from Judea/Samaria felt he needed to have such an image. Thus, he had the police give orders to mercilessly beat passive demonstrators, thinking it would make him popular with those on the Left who hate "settlers". It boomeranged, and Olmert dropped in the pre-election polls. Olmert tried it again with his Lebanon II war which he stated EXPLICITLY was designed again to make he look "tough". That failed as well. Now, his minions like this police officer are going to pay the price for the crimes that Olmert had him commit. I am glad, however, that the officer did admit that the police were given politically motivated orders to use maximum violence. The question is "when will Olmert face justice for the crimes he has committed?" |
