| Freed of the "obligation" to supply electricity to Gaza, Israel can now retaliate as needed for Hamas atrocities by bombing the transformers and substations. Getting Gaza power back on line will be somebody elses problem. With Hamas rocket firing at Israel`s port of Ashkelon, Israel is also fully justified in blocking UNRWA from delivering its shipments of food/medicine there - "too dangerous". Not Israel`s problem to find an alternate port, up to Hamas to end shooting at Ashkelon. Next thing to cut off - ALL agricultural water from Israel. No Geneva Conv. obligation to supply non-humanitarian commodities to Gaza during wartime, and Gaza has its own drinking water. They don`t need agricultural water if they have no access to Israeli ports to ship the produce (also not required by Geneve Conv.). They can try to truck it to Port Said in desert heat; let Egypt build a pipe from the Aswan Dam! Needless to say, idiotic "Sovereign Safe Passage" across Israel is now off the table for good! |
