Justice Beisky`s flexible approach has prevailed. In the next few weeks, Yad Vashem will rigthfully honour the Spanish diplomat Eduardo Propper de Callejon, who issued thousands of life-saving visas to Jews who desperately needed to flee France during the Holocaust. Propper de Callejon`s father was Jewish and nevertheless, Yad Vashem made the right decision to pay tribute to this great saviour. We believe Sir Nicholas Winton, the Briton who was born to a Jewish mother, and saved more than 600 Czech children, deserves the same treatment. The International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation is an NGO devoted to preserve and keep alive the sacred legacies of Wallenberg and his likes. Only recently, thanks to the generous support of Messrs Cesar and Eduardo Wengrower, and Mr Eduardo Peduto, of Argentina, we were able to set-up scholarships to further research the corageous feat of Propper de Callejon and other Spanish saviours.
