Ahmadinejad will be voted out of office in 2009. He doesn`t have the support of the Iranian people, the clerics, or the Supreme Leader.
His defeat is nearly inevitable. The only thing that could stop his defeat would be a war. If Iran were to be attacked, he would become a "War President" just like George Bush in 01.
He knows this, and will attempt to goad Israel into a conflict. Israel would be smart to see through this and deny Ahmadinejad the conflict he needs to stay in office.
Israel is now in the position of determining whether Ahmadinejad stays in office. I hope Israel chooses to remove him, instead of falling for his bait. |
