Charles, The people who go to beth knesset for kol nidre , but return home after this to eat and watch TV ,as you so nicely put it , are still an entegral part of the Jewish people. They may not be observing, but I as a religeous Jew do not disregard them. Unfortunalty there are people like SJ on this forum who concider Oxthodox Judaism as something evil. They point to people who dont represent the true Torah and use them as examples. I on the other hand know that this world stands on 3 things. On Torah , on Divine worship and on acts of kindness.( Shimon Hatzadik - Ethics of Our Fathers 1:2)
Let the Israeli Jews first learn acts of true kindness to eachother , the rest will then follow. You will see. |
