Sadly, the candidates are very considering in their support for Israel. Jews, like Christians and any other religious group, will tend to vote similarly.
The problem in American politics is that if you do not specifically support Israel, and generally unconditionally during campaign years, you will not get that portion of the vote. With elections as close as they occasionally are, one cannot afford to lost any voters.
I would prefer to see them leave the issue alone and not collect votes for campaign promises, but that only gives the opposition to play the anti-semite card. |
