mr. fukuda would like to see "confidence building" between israel and the palestinian arabs.

his suggestion that israel reduce its security measures would put the lives of israeli civilians at risk from terrorist attacks, like the one just perpetrated in dimona.

he doesn`t seem to notice that the palestinian anarchy has not fulfilled a SINGLE commitment of this "road map" - not even the simplest and risk-free, like changing the plo charter or stopping the daily incitements to violence in the media and in the schools, all of which are fully under the control of abu mazen. continual preaching of hatred is not the best way to "build confidence" or create peace.

to mr. fukuda i can only repeat golda meir`s famous line: "it takes two to make peace, but only one to make war". i would suggest that he address his well-meaning advice on how to make peace to ramallah, where their schools still teach children to aspire to "martyrdom" and not college!
