I fully agree with your sympathies. Let?s go forward in life!
Many of our young people when visiting Poland only see the (German!) death camp Auschwitz and afterwards act with frustration and even disdain, though being guests of the country. As a Holocaust survivor, I have visited Auschwitz (and such places in other countries) many times and I don?t take it lightly. But today I also see an inviting, vibrant, successful and, most of all, friendly Polish nation and a beautiful view of natural scenery.
A small correction: In Warszawa I always notice police protection near the synagogue on No. 6 Twarda Street, likewise in Berlin, Frankfurt, Prague, Zürich etc. There are not only native Poles in the country. Precaution is needed.
