Ramon must be hoping that nobody will, because the Road Map clearly states - not once but twice - that in Phase 1 Israel must not change the status quo that existed in September 2001.

And in September 2001 every one of these outposts were "unauthorized", and so that`s how they must remain.

As The Groper so eloquently put it: "This is a commitment to the U.S. and it is very difficult to break such a promise,"

And if those outposts remain "unauthorized" then they are useless to Israel, because they can not be used as a bargaining chip in any negotiations with Abbas.

The Groper knows that, as does Chrome Dome and Little Tubby Guts, which is why they are all hoping to do this "authorization" so softly, softly that the Americans won`t notice.

If the USA doesn`t come down on this like A Ton Of Bricks then Abbas may as well give up now, coz he`s up against more than the Israelis; he`s up against George W. Olmert and Condi Livni.
