This conference is not how terrible Israel is, it`s how perfect the rest of the world`s HR record is. In condemning only Israel`s HR record, I guess then the rest of the world is perfect and there are no HR abuses anywhere else. Of course nothing will be said about Darfur, nor the discrimination suffered by women and minorities of much of the Muslim world, nor for terrorism between Shia and Sunni in Iraq, or how states like Cuba, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, China, North Korea and so many others deny their people their basic human rights to vote for their leaders, nor how corrupt most African and Arab countries are stealing the riches from their people and lining the pockets of government officials, nor how torture of inmates in Syria, China and many African nations are commonplace. The list goes on and on.
At this conference none of these nations will be held accountable. It must make them feel good to get automatic exoneration. |
