Maynard, it was extremely Catholic for centuries to retain that "anti-Jewish bigotry" in the Good Friday Prayer. In fact, it was for centuries a prayer for the "pernicious Jews," until John XXIII changed it in 1961. As for the "Le Febvrites." They are not, IMHO a "splinter-group of former Catholics," unless, of course, you fault their rejection of `Clown Masses` and other such perverted debacles; unless, of course, you reject those who refuse to participate in a vernacuar liturgy, chock full of insipid bowdlerized prayers, and too often, alas, presided over by closeted homosexuals in long flowing white robes draped in multi-colored sashes. |
