The reports in Aviation Week & Space Technology a few months back were fairly good.
If Iron Dome has insufficient response time to deal with rockets fired from less then 4 Km it would be not effective for the role of defending Sderot.
Moreover, it could remain susceptible to depressed trajectory rockets from further away.
The laser system is still far short of a viable system.
Given the pitch made in Haaretz a few days back for the Phalanx system I wonder if this issue is not being subject to sales pitches from various US firms in an attempt to get the business away from Israeli contractors? |
