| This nonsense that if 13 people died someone must pay is typical of the people on this forum. The issues are (1) whether the police acted within the law in reacting to a violent lifethreatening insurrection and (2) if not to what extent is there available probative evidence to convict a particualr officer for illegal behaviour. Though many (me too) stop at issue one since the situation created by the arab mob was lifethreatening and chaotic, even if you refuse to acknowledge the truth, a democratic state based on the rule of law does not randomly select a scapegoat/s and punish them to moliffy an angry mob. The police and the prosecution investigated these events and reached their conclusions. If you do not agree because "it just cannot be that noone pays" then grow up and understand that the type of regime you want is next door in Egypt where Assam Assam was jailed for years on a trumped up charge so as not to embarrass the regime and to mollify its critics. |
