| It`s wonderful that people want to develop Mitzpe Ramon. As someone who has lived here for many years, I would welcome it. However, there are quite a few obstacles, and many of these are the reason these programmes rarely involve people who actually live in Mitzpe Ramon. For one thing, information about development programs often never reaches the general public until it is too late. Often, information is disseminated like political favors. Secondly, businesses here face formidable municipal taxes and the rent on the few available shops in outrageous. It is cheaper to open a shop in Beer-Sheva than it is here. Sadly, a book store in Mitzpe Ramon is a pipe dream at the moment. |
