| Arabs and Jews have far more in common than Soviet "Jews" and Israelis. Essentially, Jews and Arabs do not want to murder each other. European anti-Semitism is far more insidious. The main issue between Palestinians and Jews; centers around cultural and religious hegemony. Palestinians and Jews are going to have to realize that sooner or later, this is not a zero sum game. The solution to Israels security is not two separate entities living in harmony with one another, but a federal system, where both Arabs and Jews coexist in mutual security. Perhaps the name Israel will need to be changed; so that both Israelis and Palestinians can identify with a common national entity. This may seem like an idealistic idea, but the alternative is far worse. Palestinians really do have an issue when questioning the right of return for ?Russian Jews?. Palestinians are more connected to the land. Both Israelis and Palestinians need to wake up and smell their falafels. |
