How would Israel respond if Hamas decided to kill Olmert?
By Israeli standards they have a very clear case: Olmert is guilty, since the IDF killed hundreds of innocent civilians in Gaza/Lebanon in 2006, but also continues killing Palestinians on a daily scale. So there is a strong "pre-emptive" case. The argument that Israeli actions are necessary to avoid attacks does not hold: many times Hamas offered a truce and they kept one-sided truces for months. Israel never spend a second on considering their truce offers. So who is the terrorist? |
