Why does Mr. Benvenisti even use the term "demographic threat"? If Jews were termed as such, he would likely be screaming "anti-semitism" at the top of his voice, and rightly so.
Is this just the prelude to building walls around each and every Palestinian city and village? Mass transfer of Palestinians is a bit too obvious for the international community to accept, so will every last Palestinian be put under siege, and slowly starved to death? Will more Palestinians die at checkpoints while seeking medical care? Will more houses be demolished? Will more olive groves be uprooted? Will more children be brutalized?
Rather than speaking of "more efficient ways to defeat demography", why isn`t Mr. Benvenisti discussing ways to grant Palestinians their human rights, so they can create a better future for themselves? Palestinians will truly be a threat only as long as they are systematically oppressed, and therefore angry. Perhaps justice is the solution to this "demographic threat." |
