Israel can beg all it wants, but in the end, it will have to face two very hard FACTS. (1) the US has no money to spend on weapons systems (2) the cost-benefit of anti-missiles systems is just not there. That is, the the cost of an anti-missile system that will, at best, work only part of the time, is many orders of magnitude more than the cost of the missiles. The enemy doesn`t have to spend very much to get lots of "bang for their buck," whereas Israel and the US have to spend BILLIONS (that the US does not have) for systems that work only part of the time. the "enemy" can easily bankrupt the US and ISrael by just using thousands of in militarily ineffective and cheap rockets that the US/Israel will have to spend billions to counter.
The bottom line: anti-missile systems do NOT work and are NEVER worth the cost. |
