Hizbullah will retaliate. Israel will do little about it. Hizbullah is supported by Iran, but acts in its own interest. Israel is supported by the USA, but acts in the best interest of the USA, with disregard to the interest of Israelis. Conclusion: both Hizbullah and the USA will make political gains, no matter what. And, Israel, Palestinians, and Lebanese (non allied with Hizbulla) will lose.
