| French can`t ignore it, and Muslims of France need to understand it. I think it`s a good idea. My 11 year old is learning some very unpleasant things, but she needs to know them. Slavery in the US past and the Civil Rights movement is one part of US history every child should know. This is another part which should not be swept under the rug. I have already told her the story of Pope John the XXIII and how he saved hundreds of Jewish children when he was a Bishop. (and no, I`m not Catholic) |
