| Population of the world : 6,649,117,969 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population) Muslim population of the world : 1.5 billion (http://www.adherents.com/Religions_By_Adherents.html) Male muslim population of the world : 750 million Number of people insulted or denigrated in the Qu`ran = Population of the world - Male muslims = 6,649,117,969 - 750 million = 5,899,117,969 Percentage of worlds people insulted in the Qu`ran = 100*(5,899,117,969/6,649,117,969) = 88.7 % Percentage of worlds people insulted by Danish cartoons = 100*(1,500,000,000/6,649,117,969) = 22.6 % Given that those insulted by the Qu`ran (88.7%) don`t carry on like children every time a new Qu`ran is published, surely the muslims who feel insulted (22.6%) could show a similar level of restraint ? Especially given that the passages in the Qu`ran insult four times as many people and actually incite murder or enslavement as opposed to some light comedic illustrations. |
