| $3 billion isn`t all that great of a number if you put it in perspective with all other funds that are used for other projects. Congressional earmarks and pet projects in the 2008 fiscal year alone are estimated at $18 billion (See Washington Post). It seems like scaling back congressional pet projects would be more useful and have a much greater impact in the US than ridding of foreign aid. In fact, those funds associated with Hillary Clinton account for $342 million, greater than 10% of the foreign aid to Israel. |
