Making parts of Gaza "no man`s land" wouldn`t achieve anything. The terrorists already have, and will get more long-range rockets that don`t need to be fired from the border area. If they get rockets like Hizballah has, they can fire them from anywhere in the Strip. Once that happens, what should Israel do? Carpet-bomb Gaza?
Bombing Gaza wouldn`t just be inhumane. It would be ineffective militarily. 99% of the casualties would be civilian, and there would be thousands of dead, especially if the bombing was combined with a blockade, cuts in electricity, etc.
Solution? Keep up with targeted killings and sanctions. There`s no quick fix. |
