The Bush years were all about oil, who to support to favor US oil companies, which country to attack to build further US oil co business, which country to oppose based on removing threats to US oil business, environmental policy to further those same US oil co business interests, etc.
Those years are over! Now we will have a domestic perspective from which to view our foreign relations, based on a Democratic Admin, and Congress. The Hoenlein feeling is that of the change, but his attach on Obama is wrong, because the support for Israel will still be strong, but it will be tempered with a view into deeper more complex relationships with the balance of the world. Ultimately this will be stabilizing and better for Israel. |
