| American know all too well what it is like to be confronted with terrorism. Sure there is 9-11, but before that there was the Achillie Lauro, the Beirut Embassy and many other incidents. Since then, the rest of the world has witnessed bombings in Bali, Madrid and London, among many other places. People want the Palestinians to have a state, but very few people think that terrorist attacks are the right way to go about getting one, and very few people think Israel is required to sustain attack after attack without response. Don`t expect some kind of sea-change in US attitudes, no matter who is elected. |
