As a AIPAC member, I can tell the readers of Haaretz that the political power of this organization is way overblown. Only a fraction of the issues we`re concerned with for Israel`s welfare are adopted by the U.S. Government. Two of our now ex-staff members are being prosecuted on trumpted up charges just to teach our lobby a lesson.
The real strength of the relationship between the U.S. and Israel is due to the American electorate. Mostly, I`m surprised how the average American citizen has such favorable views with respect to Israel. They truly realize what the threat of Islamic Fascism is to both Israel and the U.S. |
