| Israel needs a government that will be willing to deal with the Iranian military nuclear programme, not with virtual peace. Hizbullah, Syria and Hamas are the pawns of the mullahs in Tehran. Thanks to Olmert and Livni, Hizbullah has today three times as much missiles and rockets and can reach Ben Gurion airport. As long as Iran is permitted to produce nuclear weapons, there will be no peace. A virtual peace partner like Fatah will not make the difference. For the time being Israel falls into the trap posed by the mullahs to react against local skirmishes, against Hizbullah or Hamas but fails to recognise the broader picture: Iran is out to destroy Israel, and the mullahs will not do it directly but through terrorists that will soon dispose of nuclear weapons. Only a government ready to tackle Iran will bring peace to Israel. Self-deception will be suicidal, like in 1973. |
