| Hamas has no intention of standing in an open field and going toe-to-toe with the IDF. They will resist the initial assault, true, but then they will melt into the population. Don`t think Lebanon; think Baghdad, or Fullajah. B: "My impression is that Hamas is trying to drag the IDF into Gaza." Well, Duh!! B: "The IDF already knows the identities of Hamas loyalists through a sophisticated network of informants." Which was also true pre-disengagement. The IDF couldn`t destroy Hamas then, B. B: "Once the IDF begins major combat operations in the Strip, they could very well continue until Hamas is either completely wiped out, or so degraded that recovery would prove impossible." The IDF goes in and Hamas - OBVIOUSLY! - will fight them exactly the way the IDF wants them to! Hmmm. Except Hamas might fight their way, and simply let the IDF stumble around forever attempting the One Knockout Punch That Ends The Bout. |
