| Abbas has committed political suicide by being Israel`s lap dog. He has accomplished nothing by being Israel`s lap dog, so he is effectively dead politically and Hamas has out maneuvered Israel, again. Soon Abbas will be gone (probably physically dead, not just politically) and whoever replaces him in Fatah is going to have to be much closer to Hamas or risk ending up the same as Abbas. What Israelis can not seem to realize is by not being willing to give up lots of land, water and cash (which they eventually will do anyway), they are just making ALL Palestinians more radical. While Hamas may have not gotten much more than Fatah, there is a lot more promise of eventually defeating Israel than the empty gesture of Abbas. |
